• Trusted Contacts will help you when you will be unable to access you Facebook account. Facebook will send a account recovery code to your friend.
• Trusted Contacts are your close friend so you can call them to help you to get access your Facebook account again.

• Enter the code given you by your Trusted Contacts and you will get account access back.

How to make it work

• Go to “Account Setting” section of your account .Then click the “Security” option on the left hand side.

• Click on the Choose Trusted Contacts link to begin.

• You'll be given the basic rundown of what Trusted Contacts can do to help you keep your account secure. Click on the Choose Trusted Contacts button when you're ready to move on.

•  You will be asked to 3-5 friends. Choose them properly. You don’t want someone to screw you :P .

•  Now you have to enter your password to start Trusted Contacts Features.

• Once you clicked on submit button you will see your trusted contacts. You can Edit or remove them all at any time.

After the whole process your friends will be notified that you have chosen them to help you.

Now, if you ever face the horror of getting your account hacked or loosing a password you can use the “Trusted Friends” feature of Facebook to recover your account. Each of your friends will get a security code at the time of account recovery. Use that code to recover your account. Of course, there are other more frequently used Facebook account recovery methods. But if, in case, you are out of luck on other features you can try this one and get your account back.
